About

The Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Airport Planning and Environmental Review Course is designed especially for aviation professionals responsible for planning and environmental compliance at commercial service and general aviation airports and aviation-based companies. The certification is based on fundamental federal regulations and policies, research from aviation organizations and generally accepted planning and environmental practices. It explores the diverse components that make-up the airport, including airside and landside facilities, stakeholder participation, master planning, airport layout plan development, and environmental considerations. This course will be an extensive review of the ACE Planning body of knowledge modules to help attendees learn and retain the information and pass the exam.

$1100 - active duty military or federal government (documentation required)

As an aviation planning manager for Mead & Hunt, Stephanie Ward oversees the development of planning projects for airports, as well as state and federal agencies. Stephanie has over 32 years of experience in the aviation industry and has been heavily involved in all aspects of aviation during that time. As a private pilot since the late 1980’s, Stephanie is passionate about working with communities and airport sponsors to keep airports viable. She was the principal investigator for ACRP Report 259 regarding tree mitigation around airports – a topic she is heavily involved in with a number of her client airports. Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and a master’s degree in Parks and Recreation Resources from Michigan State University, and she is a certified member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
