As Vice President of Member Experience and the AAAE Foundation, Gwen Basaria leads initiatives that strengthen member engagement, enhance the member experience, and support the future of the aviation industry through professional development grants and scholarship opportunities. As AAAE's chief member advocate, Gwen oversees strategies to identify and address member needs, develop innovative benefits and services, and elevate service standards across the association. She also manages the day-to-day operations of the AAAE Foundation, which has awarded more than 3,800 scholarships totaling over $7.87 million since 1989. In addition, Gwen serves as staff liaison for the Airport Customer Experience Symposium and the Arts in the Airport Workshop and previously oversaw the Airport Social Media Summit and Airports Going Green Conference. A recognized industry leader, she was named one of Airport Business Magazine's 40 Under 40 in 2016 for her contributions to aviation and association leadership. Before joining AAAE in 2004, Gwen worked for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee and the Vermont Governor's Commission on Women. She lives in Arlington, Virginia, with her husband and son, while proudly maintaining her Vermont roots.
