Tanner Way is a nationally recognized leader in aviation training and professional development, known across the aviation industry for his unwavering professionalism and forward-thinking approach. As Manager of Training and Certification Programs at the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), Tanner supports the success of some of the largest and most influential airports in the United States through the delivery of nationally respected training and certification programs. In his role, Tanner contributes to the creation and expansion of nationally recognized training and certification programs, supports contract drafting, and drives innovation within the training department — all with a focus on elevating the standard of excellence for airport professionals nationwide. Backed by a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University (Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors) and dual minors in Airport Planning and Air Traffic Control, Tanner is a lifelong aviation professional with a flight history dating back to 2011. He holds multiple industry-recognized certifications, including the Certified Member Professional Airport Management Certification (C.M.), Airport Certified Employee - Safety Management Systems (ACE), and International Aerodrome Certified Employee (IACE) designations. Tanner also brings deep knowledge in security and emergency management, with specialized training from the Department of Homeland Security and the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). His expertise spans key areas such as threat assessment, risk mitigation, bombing prevention, counterintelligence, and regulatory compliance. Known as an impact player with agile versatility, Tanner’s experience also includes data analysis, research, business process improvement, internal auditing, system development, marketing, and quality compliance — making him a dynamic and respected force in the aviation industry.
